Where Do You Live?

Today’s Thoughts

Friday, May 12, 2023  ·  By Bishop Samson Amajene

Text: Galatians 5:22–23 (NLT)

Topic: Where Do You Live?

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” — Galatians 5:22–23 (NLT)

Beloved, where you live matters a great deal — it may truly determine the outcome of your life. When a believer gives his life to Christ and becomes genuinely born again, he is expected by God, men, and angels to bear the fruit of the Spirit. Why should my life not produce the fruit of the Spirit when I now live in Christ? It is truly astonishing that we belong to Christ and yet still produce fruits of unrighteousness.

The Bible says the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The question is — is the Holy Spirit truly living in us? Why, in contrast, are so many of us still producing hate, sadness, conflict, impatience, greed, wickedness, compromise, pride, and lack of self-control? Beloved, these things are certainly not of Christ. So where are these fruits coming from?

We need to truly examine ourselves to know where we truly live — is it in Christ, or somewhere else?
