Topic: What Time Is This?

"And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had an understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment." — 1 Chronicles 12:32 (KJV)

To understand what time it is, you have to look at the clock, phone, or watch to determine the time. But many people fail to look at their time — and some do not even have a clock. So how can they know their time?

Spiritually, most of us do not understand what time this is because we are not studying situations and circumstances through the Scriptures, praying in tongues, or listening to edifying songs and messages. We should not be dull of hearing and slow to understand the times we are in now, especially compared to when we were not yet saved by grace.

The funny thing is that time does not wait for anybody — it is always ticking and moving on. We should understand that since COVID-19, the way things are done in the world has drastically changed. That is a fact. The world has become more of a global community through social media and online activity. Where we are now, distance is no longer a barrier — you can reach so many people through the internet.

We are in a digital space right now. You can do almost everything online, and we are drawing closer and closer to the coming of the Lord, according to Scripture. Beloved, take a good look at your life — especially your walk with God — because we are in a very challenging time of faith, where children of God are looked upon as foolish for living right in Christ.

Knowing your time is a combination of several things. There is a time for the conception of the vision, a time for goal-setting to implement the vision, and a time to deliver on the assignment. It is a strategic plan carried out in consonance with God's will and timing. There is a time to plant, a time to water what is planted, and a time to harvest what has been planted.

The children of Issachar were known for their wisdom. They had an "understanding of the times" — that is, they were able to assess and perceive situations and people accurately, and turn that understanding to their advantage. They could see how things were going and discern when it was the right time to make a move or a decision.

Eternal Father, please help me to have an understanding of my time and season. Do not allow me to grope in darkness, in Jesus' name. Amen.
