10. He Glorifies Christ

All the ministries of the Holy Spirit aim to glorify Christ (John 16:14). Christ is exalted and glorified in a believer's life when the Holy Spirit fills and guides them. The Lord is glorified when the Holy Spirit ministers to us and through us to others. This is why the glorifying work of the Holy Spirit is a vital ministry.

Life Application: Seek to live in a way that reflects Christ's glory. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your actions and decisions so that others may see Christ through you.

11. He Empowers Believers for Witnessing

The Holy Spirit empowers believers for the work of world evangelization. Believers cannot be effective without the power of the Holy Spirit, as promised by Jesus in Acts 1:8 and Luke 24:49. This empowering came on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, when 120 disciples received the Holy Spirit's power in the upper room. It was through this power that Apostle Peter delivered a powerful message, leading to the conversion of three thousand souls. The Holy Spirit transforms timid and fearful Christians into bold witnesses for Christ. Jesus Christ was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power (Acts 10:38). We must seek the anointing of the Holy Spirit for every form of Christian service.

Life Application: Pray for the Holy Spirit's empowerment in your daily life. Be open to opportunities to share your faith, trusting that the Holy Spirit will give you the words and courage needed.

12. He Convicts Believers of Sin

The Holy Spirit convicts believers of their sins just as He convicts sinners. Beyond showing us what is wrong, He gives us the power to overcome sin. As the "Holy" Spirit, He cannot bless where there is unconfessed sin. Daily self-examination is crucial to experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit, witnessing miracles, and being a blessing to others.

Life Application: Engage in regular self-reflection and confession. Allow the Holy Spirit to reveal areas in your life that need change and rely on His strength to overcome them.

13. He Aids Acceptable Worship of God

Worship acceptable to God springs from a heart controlled and led by the Holy Spirit. Worship not led by the Holy Spirit is like offering strange fire. Our heavenly Father seeks those who will worship Him with a true heart (John 4:23–24; Philippians 3:3). We should allow the Holy Spirit to guide our regular services, devotions, and personal walk with God.

Life Application: Cultivate a heart of genuine worship. Invite the Holy Spirit to lead your worship — both in corporate settings and personal devotions — ensuring your worship is sincere and Spirit-led.

14. He Teaches the Believer

While no teacher is greater than our Lord Jesus Christ, in this age the Holy Spirit serves as our teacher. Before Jesus went to the cross, He said: "It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you" (John 16:7). One reason for Jesus' departure was the limitation of His personal ministry to a small geographical area. The Holy Spirit — the Spirit of Christ — teaches and reaches multitudes worldwide.

Knowing the Holy Spirit's important ministry, Jesus gave many promises about Him (John 14:26; 15:26; 16:13–15). Every Spirit-filled believer is a channel for the Holy Spirit to teach sinners the way of salvation and believers how to gain victory over sin, sickness, and Satan, and how to prepare for heaven. Teaching the Bible is the work of Spirit-filled believers whose spiritual eyes have been opened by the Lord. No sinner, nominal, or religious person can effectively handle the Word of God without the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit.

Life Application: Be open to the Holy Spirit's teaching in your life. Spend time in God's Word, asking the Holy Spirit to illuminate its truths and guide you in applying them to your life.
