How to Give in Faith, Expecting What the Lord Will Do

Today's Thoughts — Ministering Series

Text: Luke 6:38 (KJV)

Topic: How to Give in Faith, Expecting What the Lord Will Do

"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." — Luke 6:38 (KJV)

In this verse, Jesus Christ emphasizes the act of giving, highlighting its significance in receiving blessings. He instructs us to give — yet often we tend to focus on taking instead. It is crucial to understand that expecting blessings without first giving support, comfort, resources, and help to those in need goes against Christ's teachings.

Jesus Christ exemplified unparalleled giving by sacrificing Himself on the cross for our salvation, underscoring the importance of selfless generosity. Engaging in a life of service and meeting the needs of others brings the greatest rewards — with giving resulting in receiving far more than what was initially offered.

The essence of superabundant living lies in the act of giving, as emphasized by Jesus Christ's words about receiving in abundance. Despite the enticing promise of receiving generously when we give, challenges may arise. The struggle against the discouragement of the flesh and doubts instigated by external influences — such as the enemy's deception — can hinder our faith in the process.

In moments of confusion or doubt resulting from not seeing immediate returns on our giving, it is vital to remain steadfast in faith. Despite any uncertainties, remember that the Lord works in mysterious ways, often beyond our expectations. Trust in the divine timing and process of receiving blessings as promised by God.
