Text: 1 Chronicles 4:9–10 (KJV)
Topic: How to Change Your Destiny
"And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested." — 1 Chronicles 4:9–10 (KJV)
Bishop Samson Amajene provided insights on transforming one's destiny based on the account of Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9–10. He highlighted the importance of seeking God's blessing, guidance, and protection in order to alter one's life trajectory. He emphasized the efficacy of following proven truths and principles that lead to lasting results, contrasting them with previous unsuccessful attempts at prosperity.
Drawing a metaphor between achieving success and climbing a tall building, Bishop Amajene underscored the significance of perseverance and taking consistent steps toward one's goals. By narrating Jabez's story as a testament to the transformative power of faith and prayer, he urged readers to emulate Jabez's unwavering belief and reliance on God for divine intervention in their lives.
Furthermore, Bishop Amajene emphasized the need to prioritize faith over reliance on worldly sources, reiterating that through dedicated prayer and trust in God, one can overcome challenges and receive blessings beyond measure. He encouraged individuals facing adversity to persist in faith and prayer — for it leads to breakthroughs and the recovery of lost blessings.
Lord, like Jabez, we ask that You bless us indeed, enlarge our territory, let Your hand be with us, and keep us from evil — that it may not grieve us. In Jesus' name. Amen.
