Season's Greetings

Dearly Beloved, season's greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. This celebration season shall be one of the best in your life and family. It is time for the Breakthrough Fasting & Prayer Session — December 1–12 to round off the year, as we prepare ourselves for divine breakthroughs in the year ahead.

Beloved, fasting and prayer facilitates the atmosphere for our breakthroughs when we make time to seek the face of God through a biblical fasting and prayer programme like this one.

There shall be no more delays, faintings, weaknesses, financial lacks, delayed marriage and employment, etc. Your life shall be transformed during and after this programme, in Jesus' mighty name.

You shall experience power, success, and glory, in Jesus' name — "they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength" and shall be high flyers in the days ahead and beyond.

A Result-Oriented Fast — Isaiah 58:3–10

A result-oriented fast is one that engages the spirit, soul, and body in seeking the Lord for divine intervention in all areas of our lives. According to the Scriptures, fasting goes beyond merely afflicting the soul through abstinence or denial from food, pleasure, conjugal relationship, water, social activities, and work to seek the Lord for positive results.

Brethren, it also goes beyond avoiding sin, quarrels, arguments, fighting, and backbiting. But fasting is done primarily for the following reasons:

1. To loosen the bands and bonds of wickedness
2. To undo heavy burdens
3. To let the oppressed go free
4. To break every yoke

The reason many people fast and their fasting and prayers are not attracting God's attention is because they fail to carry out divine instruction during the fasting programme, as we see in Isaiah 58:7.

Fasting becomes effective and productive when acts of mercy go along with it. We should give alms, food, clothes, shoes, money, or whatever we can when we fast — because God is not only interested in our fasting, prayers, prophecy, and deliverance alone.

This is why so many people pray and fast year in, year out without any tangible result — simply because they are violating the Word of God without knowing it. Beloved, if you want to see results, you should give to bless people as you embark upon this fast, no matter how small.

Please be sensitive to the needs of people around your neighbourhood, and find ways of reaching out to them with whatever you can in supporting them while you fast and pray, according to Isaiah 58:7.

Seven Blessings of Effective Fasting — Isaiah 58:8

Trust in God, and you shall share testimonies with blessings following:

1. Then shall thy light break forth as the morning.
2. Thine health shall spring forth speedily.
3. Thy righteousness shall go before thee.
4. The glory of the Lord shall be thy rereward.
5. Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer.
6. The enemy shall be far away from you.
7. Every yoke shall be broken.
